Almost there!

About 3 months ago, Rhianna's daycare asked for a family photo -- we finally got around to doing one this weekend. I'm impressed we got everyone to smile at the camera even though it was just sitting on a tripod. I guess we've made them say cheese enough that the kids got the idea ;)

TOMORROW'S the big day!! I can't wait. I'm beside myself. I called yesterday to confirm my appointment and the lady said "hmmm... I don't see you on the schedule." LOOK AGAIN. Luckily she did the classic "o/a" swap in our last name so she did find me. Whew.

I'm pretty sure it's a boy. But since my intuition has been wrong for both of my kids so far, it might be a girl.

Girl symptoms: Might be carrying a little lower, Majorly emotional (not sure if that's really associated with girls, but it serves reason to suspect too much estrogen), Face breakout

Boy symptoms: Lower heartbeat, Lots of heartburn, gut feeling, like boy names these days, haven't gained much weight yet

Annoyed doc

Well, the appointment today went ok. Doc was kinda annoyed today as I've lost 1/2 lb. since my last visit. She put me on some anti-nausea meds that I am to take as needed. She said that many people who are sick turn the corner around 17 weeks (I'm 18 weeks today), others that have remained sick were sick the whole time. Fun fun. I don't feel like it's unbearable or anything so I'm a frustrated -- I feel like it's a little over-zealous to take meds for something that seems like regular pregnancy discomfort. I mean, I know that the morning sickness is supposed to end after the first trimester, but it's not like I'm not keeping anything down. Dave disagrees and says he thinks I seem pretty low-energy and hopes this will help. I can't tell if the energy is related to food/nausea or if it's just plain old pregnancy. Everything else was normal (urine, blood pressure). Feeling the baby move regularly now so that's fun.

Heartbeat was 135 this time. Boy? We'll find out soon! Only 12 days until the u/s!

Eh

Things here are a bit ridiculous. I'm so sick of being preggo-emotional. Stupid hormones.

That aside, Rhianna has her third bladder infection in 6 weeks and hopefully we'll find out what the heck to do about it when the culture comes back on Tuesday. Sheesh. I'm OVER it! I feel so bad for her. Last night after she'd had an accident, she was really upset. I held her and told her that we'll get it figured out and she goes, "I'm trying mommy, i really am!" And cue the tears from preggo mommy.

Oh and Rhianna has told all of daycare that mommy has a sister in her belly. Though today she told a friend that it's a boy and we're going to name him "Cinderella." Awesome.

In the nitty-gritty reports, I'm barfing again, feeling generally gross, and definitely rounding out. I don't know that I'm carrying low or high really.... seems high in the morning and low in the evenings. I'm feeling a little movement every day though it's been much higher than I expected it the last couple of days -- guess it must be getting bigger :)

Been a while

I've been a bit delinquent in my posts. Things are going fairly well. I'm getting to the "other side" of my in-between-ness. I am beginning to look unmistakably pregnant when I wear certainly clothes, a swimsuit, or am naked. I'm guessing it may be another week or so before the unsuspecting eye can tell that I'm pregnant. My belly is getting harder which makes it feel less mushy and more pregnant. I am now feeling the baby move -- not all the time, but definitely daily -- which is nice at this point.

In other news (some of you may know, some may not) Rhianna's bladder infection saga continues. After the second dose of antibiotics, we discovered that she is allergic to that medicine which has given her and itchy rash all over her little body. She didn't sleep at all last night but tonight has hope: Benadryl does wonders. I gave her her first dose at noon and by 3 most of the rash seems to be gone.

In Owen news, we may have a swimmer in our midst. We took the kids to the pool last weekend and Owen had absolutely no fear. I, on the other hand, was terrified, but Owen seemed to be completely oblivious of the fact that air is actually necessary for continued living.

Well, that's all the time I can squeeze in today. More to come.
