Eh

Things here are a bit ridiculous. I'm so sick of being preggo-emotional. Stupid hormones.

That aside, Rhianna has her third bladder infection in 6 weeks and hopefully we'll find out what the heck to do about it when the culture comes back on Tuesday. Sheesh. I'm OVER it! I feel so bad for her. Last night after she'd had an accident, she was really upset. I held her and told her that we'll get it figured out and she goes, "I'm trying mommy, i really am!" And cue the tears from preggo mommy.

Oh and Rhianna has told all of daycare that mommy has a sister in her belly. Though today she told a friend that it's a boy and we're going to name him "Cinderella." Awesome.

In the nitty-gritty reports, I'm barfing again, feeling generally gross, and definitely rounding out. I don't know that I'm carrying low or high really.... seems high in the morning and low in the evenings. I'm feeling a little movement every day though it's been much higher than I expected it the last couple of days -- guess it must be getting bigger :)

Been a while

I've been a bit delinquent in my posts. Things are going fairly well. I'm getting to the "other side" of my in-between-ness. I am beginning to look unmistakably pregnant when I wear certainly clothes, a swimsuit, or am naked. I'm guessing it may be another week or so before the unsuspecting eye can tell that I'm pregnant. My belly is getting harder which makes it feel less mushy and more pregnant. I am now feeling the baby move -- not all the time, but definitely daily -- which is nice at this point.

In other news (some of you may know, some may not) Rhianna's bladder infection saga continues. After the second dose of antibiotics, we discovered that she is allergic to that medicine which has given her and itchy rash all over her little body. She didn't sleep at all last night but tonight has hope: Benadryl does wonders. I gave her her first dose at noon and by 3 most of the rash seems to be gone.

In Owen news, we may have a swimmer in our midst. We took the kids to the pool last weekend and Owen had absolutely no fear. I, on the other hand, was terrified, but Owen seemed to be completely oblivious of the fact that air is actually necessary for continued living.

Well, that's all the time I can squeeze in today. More to come.

13 week appointment

Heartbeat was 155. (apparently normal)

Lots of questions today as they had to do a health history review. Nonetheless, you'll all be glad to know that I have neither cyphalis (sp?) nor HIV. Awesome. Anyway, all in all the appointment was relatively uneventful. I do like the new doctor and I'm excited that the office seems both friendly and efficient. She did note as she felt for my uterus "well no wonder you don't look pregnant yet, your uterus is tilted forward." This is one of those things that I didn't take notice of at the time but have been thinking about ever since. Now I want to ask, uhm, soooo????? what the heck does that mean? In other news, I'm not anemic and have no noteworthy risk factors other than my caffeine intake. Oh well. I'm not giving up Pepsi at this point.

One noteworthy thing I suppose is that we talked a bit about me feeling ridiculously emotional and generally overwhelmed recently. I'm more than a little nervous that I'm going down the same emotional path that I did after Rhianna and I really don't want to go there. So I'll keep an eye on that.

Next appointment Sept. 3.

appointment today

I haven't yet had my appointment, but this afternoon is my first real appointment for #3. The first one was a "pregnancy confirmation." I have to admit, that's kinda what I'm going for today. I'm in a very short phase of pregnancy I like to call "really? I'm pregnant? Prove it." I'm no longer puking daily. My appetite is different that it was pre-preggo, but not strange (no cravings or abnormal portions). My body is slightly larger, but in no way clearly pregnant. In fact, yesterday I fit into a pair of shorts that, two weeks ago, were too tight. I've lost a little weight -- which is nice I suppose, but odd since I feel bigger but in fact weigh less. I've felt the tiniest movement, but nothing consistent or that I would be 100% sure is the baby (though about 80% sure). So all in all, I'm not feeling very pregnant. Hopefully today I will hear the heartbeat and just doing baby related things will get me in baby mode.

On another front, the work question is becoming more an more prominent in my mind. I really have been.... Well. Let's just say unmotivated at work. I don't love being home with the kids -- as in, it's the end all, best thing ever -- but I don't usually feel at home that I'd rather be at work. The opposite is true at work. Every day I find myself less and less engaged at work an more and more interested in being home. Honestly, I don't know that it's a reasonable proposal to stay at home, nor am I confident I'm ready to make that jump. Nonetheless, it's nagging on me.

More to come post appointment.
