11 weeks

So my kumkwat is now the size of a fig -- or, according to another, less exotic site, a plum. I'm definitely feeling better. Not completely without nausea, but mostly without actual barfing. I'm pretty tired of my face breaking out and, since I'm a compulsive picker, it looks pretty nasty. I feel like my belly is definitely starting to lead the way but Dave informs me that "you could just be getting overweight." Yes, the ever-sensitive male perspective. I've been very emotional in the past week and I'm DEFINITELY not enjoying that because I really don't like being emotional. Nonetheless, I have to say that this has seemed to go faster than the other times and things are going pretty well. It's still a while before our next appointment and I'm waiting at the phone to hear that my niece has arrived.

Huh?

So, according to a website I've been checking, #3 is barely the size of a kumquat. Uhm.... what the heck is a kumquat and do most people know this?

Belly abounds

So I made it almost to 9.5 weeks before giving in to maternity bottoms. The Belly has arrived in all it's "subtle" glory. The one saving grace is that I think that dreaded "is she fat or is she pregnant" stage will be short-lived. As in, I might last two more weeks before there will be little question to those who know me at all that there's a somethin-a-growing-down-thar. And here's fun twist to this pregnancy: My RIGHT boob is getting ready for milking. Which means my RIGHT boob doesn't fit in my bras. Leftie feels there's plenty of time yet and Righty is just showing off.

In other news, almost everyone knows at this point. Dave will probably call his sisters tonight or this weekend, but basically we've told everyone that we are going to make a special announcement for ...which seems to be less in quantity that before. Somehow the telling part is really not as fun with #3. I don't know if it's lost it's novelty or what. Maybe we're older and it's more about our lives. Maybe it's because I got a bad reaction from someone and am jaded from that experience. Maybe it's because we're consumed in parenting the two children we already have.... maybe it's because we've been in and out of town and social engagements in the last two weeks. But somehow, it's just not as ...something. I don't know. We're very excited about this baby so it certainly has nothing to do with that.

All in all, I'm feeling more tired, but I think less nauseous. At least at this point I'm either ok, or barfing, not the constant "maybe I'm going to barf" feeling. Some people are hold-it-in-until-an-act-of-God-makes-you-upchuck. I'm not. I'm all over the rip-off-the-band-aid approach to stomach nausea. Feel like puking? Put your head over the toilet and get-er-done.

My next appointment won't be until after my sister has her baby HOORAY!!! She has (most likely) less than two weeks left!

So this is our baby-to-be. Currently, it measures exactly 2 cm from head to butt -- actually slightly bigger than I thought. I measured just a few days off from what I thought so they kept my due date at February 5.

(here's a little help with the grey blob id. Really, there wasn't much to see.)

The meeting with the doctor went really well. I think we'll get along with her great and I felt like she was very relaxed but happy to meet us. The office is much fancier than what we went to before. My next appointment is August 4 when I will get a full physical. They didn't even make me pee in the cup this time! We chatted for a bit, did the ultrasound, and that was it. I asked if we could to the blood tests this time so I can figure out if I still need to be taking iron, so we did that and won't have to do it next time.

Feeling pretty barfy still. Hoping the B6 the doc recommended will help in that arena.
