Hoping to drop by here more often now that I'm finally finding a schedule with work/home/etc.
Thought of the day: (please send me any comments/thoughts you have on the matter)
Now that I'm back at work, things seem a little more "normal" for me. But I find myself a little miffed. I have no trouble clicking into work mode and being 100...well, at leat 90% focused on the task at hand. However, I find myself at the end of a day home with the kids and realize I've been checked out for much of the day. Why is it so much harder to tune into the kids and be 100% there with them at the time? I mean, it's totally unnecessary for me to check my email while they are eating breakfast. Why the hell do I do it? Frustrated. At the time, it doesn't seem to be a big deal. But at the end of the day, I feel like I diciplined, carted, taught, snuggled, comforted and fed children -- but not necessarily played with. I'm always a "person apart" from them and can't seem to get really engaged like I can at work where I lose track of time.
Thoughts?
